This site is in South Yarra in Melbourne’s inner south.
Situated on busy Chapel Street, this infill job involved refurbishment of an existing shop; a new shop; and one bedroom unit with a rooftop deck. Responding to existing built form and site constraints the design also reinterprets the Modernist strip window within its contemporary northern orientation. Louvres and the canopy wrap along the facade appearing as a dazzle in the peripheral drive-by view.
